with international participation
"MONUMENTS OF WRITING AND CULTURE:
STUDY, PRESERVATION, POPULARIZATION"

The main purpose of the conference is to promote a sustainable professional dialogue between representatives of scientific, cultural, educational institutions of Ukraine and the world to discuss current challenges, strategies and practices in the field of study, preservation and popularization of cultural and historical heritage; to exchange experience between domestic and international experts in the field of book studies, library science, archives, museum studies, information technology; as well as to increase public attention to the protection and promotion of cultural heritage as an important component of national identity. 

Thematic areas of the conference:

• libraries, archives, museums as institutions of preservation of national memory: history and development;
• collections of documentary monuments in the funds of cultural and memory institutions: history of formation and current state;
• historical and cultural monuments as objects of local history research;
• national book studies, library studies, archival studies, museum studies: research directions and achievements;
• prominent personalities of Ukrainian and European book studies, library science, archival studies and museum studies - their life path and professional achievements;
• documentary heritage of ethnic groups as a key element of cultural identity: important issues of study and preservation;
• preservation of documentary monuments in the context of military conflicts: storage, conservation and restoration technologies;
• war and cultural heritage: challenges for professionals, methods of response, international experience in protecting and restoring cultural property;
• digital humanitarian initiatives: electronic archives, virtual museums, digital libraries as a means of preserving and accessing cultural heritage;
• interdisciplinary interaction: collaborations between cultural, educational and research institutions to promote cultural heritage. 

The conference will be held at Odesa National Scientific Library in a mixed format (online/offline). Working languages: Ukrainian, English. 

Participation in the conference is free of charge, pre-registration is required (via link) – until November 25, 2025. 

Speakers will receive an electronic certificate after the event.

Abstracts should be submitted until November 25, 2025, marked: conference”Monuments of Writing and Culture", to the e-mail vrvr.onnb@gmail.com The collection of materials prepared as a result of the conference will be published on the official website of Odesa National Scientific Library.

Requirements for abstracts:

• manuscripts in Ukrainian or English are accepted for publication;
• the text should be typed in MS Word;
• for abstracts in English, an abstract in Ukrainian (100-150 words), which summarizes the content of the article, is required at the beginning of the article;
• volume of abstracts - 2-6 full pages of A4 format;
• font - Times New Roman;
• size - 14;
• line spacing - 1.5;
• paragraph indentation - 1.25 cm;
• margins: top, bottom, left and right - 20 mm;
• alignment - by width;
• pages are not numbered;
• figures, tables or graphs are presented directly after the text where they are mentioned for the first time or on the next page;
• in the text, references to the used sources are given in square brackets: first, the number of the cited source in the list of references is indicated, then the page number, for example: [1, p. 25]. The list of references should be drawn up in accordance with DSTU 8302:2015 and given at the end of the article in alphabetical order, in the original language;
• before the title of the report, the UDC index should be indicated (left alignment, bold); then - the name of the conference participant, academic degree and position, place of work (full name); city, country; title of the report (capital letters, bold, centered).

Abstracts prepared with violation of the requirements will not be accepted.
