All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference with international participation
«V OdesaBiblioSummit»

On June 7-9, 2024, within the framework of the Intellect-Forum 2024, the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference with international participation «V OdesaBiblioSummit» will be held at Odesa National Scientific Library.

OdesaBiblioSummit serves as a platform for communication, creates a space for dialogue and discussion of topical issues of professional activity, for the exchange of experience, creation, development and implementation of innovative practices of information, library, educational, socio-cultural activities.

This year, the focus is on cultural and creative industries as an important factor in shaping the economy during the war and post-war recovery. The importance of the cultural and creative industries, which lie at the crossroads of art, business and technology, is constantly growing – both nationally and internationally. Today, more and more people and organizations are implementing their creative ideas to improve the lives of all mankind, and it is the diversity and synergy of the creative industries that is the key to the successful development of society. Literature and publishing, folk arts and crafts, visual and performing arts, ballet, cinema, music, fashion, design, tourism, new media and information and communication technologies, architecture and urbanism, libraries, archives and museums, advertising, marketing, public relations and other creative services are developing and filling new meanings, inspiring and strengthening each other's institutional capacity.

The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars, practitioners, and experts to address topical issues related to the role and place of information, cultural, scientific, and educational institutions in the development of the creative sector of Ukraine; to promote cross-sectoral cooperation aimed at strengthening and enhancing the role of cultural institutions, creative industries, and memory institutions in the processes of preserving, protecting, and popularizing Ukrainian culture; to emphasize the importance of creative industries in the context of the identity of the Ukrainian people and to find out how creative industries are developing in Ukraine and what role libraries play in these processes.

The following issues will be discussed at the conference:

- cultural and memory institutions under martial law: experience of overcoming challenges and threats;
- cultural heritage as an important component of creative industries and a resource for the country's development;
- models of cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of culture and creative industries;
- trends in cultural and creative industries in the modern world;
- the role and place of information, cultural, scientific, and educational institutions in the development of Ukraine's creative ecosystem;
- libraries, archives, museums in the creative industries sector;
- digital projects of libraries, archives and museums in the information space of Ukraine and the world;
- successful practices of book and reading promotion: practical advice, cases, and best practices.

Scholars and leading experts from libraries, archives, museums of Ukraine and abroad, representatives of creative industries, creative entrepreneurs, artists, journalists, educators, culturologists, representatives of public organizations, state authorities and local governments are invited to participate in the conference.

The event will be held at Odesa National Scientific Library in a mixed format (online/offline).

Participation is by prior registration.

Applications are accepted until May 27, 2024.

Participants with a presentation will receive an electronic certificate after the event.
