Personalities Drevet, Claude
1697, Loire-sur-Rhône — 1781, Paris
The nephew and student of Pierre Drevet the Elder. From the young years, he worked in the uncle’s studio. His first independent works were created in 1718. According to researcher A. Firmin Didot, Claude Drevet wanted to combine the strength of his uncle’s cutter with the elegance and brilliance of his cousin. He made 14 prints, among which the portrait of the Count of Sinzendorf is considered one of the best.
