The title of the engraving was established on the basis of a comparison with similar engravings of F. R. Ingouf kept in the British Museum (London) and Geneva Museum of Art and History (Switzerland).

Meulen, Adam Frans van der (1632, Brussels – 1690, Paris) – Flemish battle painter who worked most of his life in France; an outstanding representative of the style of Louis XIV. He wrote hunting, camps, sieges, battles and, with special excellence, horses.

Wieilh B. A. (? – ?) – French reproduction engraver. His name does not appear in any directory. Six works of this author are known, one of them is dated 1770 (British Museum).
