The chisel engraver from the famous engraver dynasty, the son and student of Nicolas-Henri Tardieu. Like his father, he was a member of the Paris Academy (1749) and a royal engraver. His son Jean-Charles became a famous artist. The portrait of Maria Leszczyńska is the most famous work of the painter.
