An engraver, a publisher and a trader of prints. From the family of Parisian engravers and publishers. Son of Nicolas III de Larmessin (ca. 1645–1725), nephew of Nicola II de Larmessin (1632–1694). He engraved portraits of the royal family, book illustrations, as well as a collection of picturesque masterpieces from the collection of Pierre Crozat. From 1730, he was the member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture. Engraver of the King’s Cabinet (1754). One of the teachers of the German engraver G. F. Schmidt.
