Personalities Habert, Nicolas
Ca. 1650 – after 1715, Paris (?)
Engraver-portraitist, publisher. Probably an apprentice of Antoine Masson, after whose style he made engravings and whose sister he married. From the end of 1680 he had his own publishing house in Paris. Neat and correct, but without much brilliance, the work of Nicolas Habert allows him to enter the ranks of the best engravers of the second or third order of the late XVII century.
He has made about 180 engravings (National Library of France).-
Portrait of Archbishop Jacques-Nicolas Colbert. 1691–1707.
