Personalities Danckerts, Cornelis II

Engraver and publisher based in Amsterdam. From 1684 he worked with his father Justus Danckerts and his brother Theodore.

ONSL keeps six works by this engraver from the series "Views of Fontainebleau", published around 1690 in Amsterdam by Justus Dunkerts, Cornelis' father. They are probably re-engraving of plates etched by a famous French engraver Gabriel Perelle (1604–1677), which were printed in Paris by Nicolas Langlois around 1688. The etchings of Perelle were thoroughly remade by C. Danckerts. The complete collection of Fontainebleau views by G.
