The writer and translator Maria Grinchenko (one of her pseudonyms is M. Zahirnya) took an active part in the national and cultural revival of Ukraine in 1917–1921 and created many popular science books to spread knowledge in the Ukrainian language among a wide range of readers. The novel by the writer and historian Danylo Morodovtsev (Mordovtsev), reworked by Maria Grinchenko, is presented, the central plot of which is the figure of the prominent political figure Hetman Peter Sagaidachny.
