The collection of bibliographic materials on Ukrainian drama in the years 1815–1906 was prepared by the writer, bibliographer, critic, folklorist, translator and lexicographer Mykhailo Komarov (1844–1913). The author notes that the presented book is a finished part of the unfinished "Bibliography of New Ukrainian Literature". The publication is timed to the 25th anniversary of the founding of the first Ukrainian drama troupe (1881–1906). Information about dramatic works in the Ukrainian language (printed and unprinted; original, translations, adaptations) has been published, publications dedicated to Ukrainian theater, individual plays and playwrights have been analyzed.
