Engraved image of a medal minted in Vienna in 1758 to commemorate L. Daun's victories over Prussian troops in Bohemia and Moravia in 1757-1758.
There is an inscription on the obverse side of the medal: LEOPOLDUS COMES A DAUN. SUPREMUS BELLI DUX AUSTRIACUS. FRIDERICI BORUSSI REGIS VICTOR ITERUM; on the reverse: SOLO DISPELLIT INCESSU. SIVES SERVATI. OLOMUCIUM. MORAVIA. BOHEMIA. ABSQUE PUGNA LIBERATA. Mense julio MDCCLVIII. Above the imprint: Ce Medaillon, frappé a Vienne en mémoire des grandes opérations du M.al C.te de Daun, represente d'un coté, le Buste de ce General, et au revers le Soleil qui dissipe des nuages epais et dont les Rayons eclairent un Paysage arrosé par deux Fleuves, et coupé par des montagnes. l’on voit dans le farintain une Ville. La Legende est, Il marche seulement et il les dissipe, et au bas, Les Citoyens sauvés. Olmutz, la Moravie et la Boheme delivered a la fois sans Combat; under the image, on the left: Joa. Gottfr.; on the right: NB De Poilly; in the center: A Paris chez N.J.B. de Poilly rue S.Jacques à l’Esperance.
