Engraver. Son of Simon Philippe Thomassin. He studied first with his father, then with Bernard Picart, during his stay with him in Amsterdam in 1712-1720. He returned to Paris, in 1728 he was elected to the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture for a portrait of Louis XIV after the original by L. de Boulogne. He worked in the technique of reproduction engraving.
