“Skolopendra” (“Centipede”) was an Odesa weekly illustrated periodical of a satirical, humorous, literary, and journalistic nature. Only three issues were published in 1908 in Odesa at the printing house of the newspaper “Odeskie Novosti” (“News of Odesa”). The editor and publisher of the magazine was Volodymyr Oleksiyovych Izdebsky (1882–1965), a sculptor, artist, art figure, organiser of art salons in Odesa (cultural art meetings), as well as a journalist, art critic and publisher. The publication included a regular section called ‘The Stranger's Newspaper,’ with content prepared by Borys Davydovych Flit (pseudonym ‘The Stranger’) (1883–1937), a well-known journalist, columnist, and literary figure who collaborated with various periodicals in Odesa. The magazine's artwork was created by Mikhail Isakovych Solomonov (1872/3–1942), an artist, graphic designer, and author of modern illustrations and vignettes.
