The author covers the period of repression in Ukraine during the times of the Russian Empire on the example of Katerinoslavschyna. The first section describes the genesis of various forms of revolutionary movement in Katerynoslav Province at the end of the XIX - early XX century., in particular, the conditions of origin and the class composition of its participants. The second section analyzes the activities of revolutionary and political parties. The author devotes the third and fourth sections to various forms of the struggle of the tsarist regime against the revolutionary movement.
