The book was published for the 25th anniversary of the theater activity of the outstanding Ukrainian actor and director Amvrosii Maksimilianovich Buchma (1891-1957) and emotionally tells about his childhood, the first professional steps on the stage of the Ukrainian theater in Galicia, his stay at the front during World War I, his captivity - and then the further formation of an actor, director, one of the founders of modern Ukrainian theater, connected primarily with the famous theater "Berezil", a number of brilliant images on the stage and on the screen, success and love of the audience. The book is richly illustrated with photographs of A. Buchma in the best roles from plays and films.
The author of the book, Kost Stepanovych Bureviy (1888-1934), is a poet, playwright, theater critic, literary critic, translator, representative of the Ukrainian "shot dead revival." The publication was designed by the well-known theater and film artist, book graphic designer Vadim Georgiyovich Meller (1884-1962).
