A collection of dramatic works by the Ukrainian writer and teacher Stepan Vasylchenko (real name – Panasenko; 1879–1932) was published in 1917. The book includes the writer's plays written in 1911–1916: "On the first roars", "Don't sing, roosters, don't shorten the night!", "In the cold", "Zilya Korolevych", "Nedorostok". Full of folklore flavor, closely connected with folk life, the drama of Stepan Vasylchenko organically continued the traditions of Ukrainian realistic prose.
