Odessa school district was formed in 1832. The educational institutions of Bessarabia, Yekaterinoslav, Taurida and Kherson provinces came under its jurisdiction. The first part of the "Reference book ..." contains information about state public specialized schools. Separate issues are devoted to territorial inspection districts and give brief information about theannual budget of educational institutions, pedagogical staff, with indication of labour experience and salary.
