Ivan Antonovych Demol (?-1859), is a famous agrarian practitioner, one of the founders and a true member of the Imperial Society of Agriculture of Southern Russia, a Swiss Consul in Odesa.
In 1835 I. A. Demol raised a question of breeding of fine fleece sheep in the South of Ukraine and published in French and Russian "A Manual Book of Sheepmen", which has endured two editions.
According to the opinions of contemporaries, this book has become a real guide for local sheepbreeding growth, in particular, due to a well-presented material and a large number of practical advice from the author's own experience.
