Personalities Visscher, Johannes (Jan) de
Ca. 1636, Harlem – between 1692–1712, Amsterdam
Etcher, engraver and painter. He studied with his brother – the well-known dutch engraver Cornelis Visscher (Cornelis Visscher). In 1658 he moved to Amsterdam. In adulthood he became a landscape painter. He made engravings from the originals by P. Wouwerman, A. van Ostade, J. van Goyen and others.
