Khersonskie gubernskie vedomosti

Publication hiatus: July 8, 1845 – March 1, 1846. Frequency: weekly between 1838 and 1918; twice a week from 1868; three times a week from 1893; daily from 1894; twice a week from 1900; three times a week from 1904; and twice a week from 1914.  Published in two sections: official and unofficial.  Supplements: included with specific issues; «Отдел Екатеринославского уездного земства» (1897–1898); «Телеграммы Петроградского телеграфного агентства» (1915–1917). «Екатеринославские губернские ведомости» was the official publication of the Katerynoslav Provincial Administration. Published in Russian between 1838 and 1918, it was the first periodical to be issued in the city of Katerynoslav (now Dnipro). In mid-1918, during Pavlo Skoropadskyi’s Ukrainian State, the newspaper was published in Ukrainian under the title " Катеринославські губерніяльні відомості". However, by the end of the year, the publication ceased to exist due to fierce fighting for the city between the forces of the Directorate, Bolsheviks, and Makhno’s detachments.

Newspaper digitization was carried out as part of the project Heritage of Eastern and Southern Ukraine: Preservation of 19th and Early 20th Century Newspapers (EAP1758), implemented by the Odessa National Scientific Library in partnership with the University of Oslo (Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History) under the Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) of the British Library (see project page: https://eap.bl.uk/project/EAP1758). The project is funded by the British Library and the Arcadia Fund, with additional financial support from XTX Markets.
