“Novorossiisk Calendar” is a unique scientific and reference publication, edited in Odesa in 1821-1893. The trustee of Odesa school district in 1837-1844 Dmitro Maksymovych Kniazhevych considered the calendar one of the main local editions, so he handed it to Richelieu Lyceum, where it was published from 1838 to 1864 for the benefit of poor students. Leading professors of lyceum participated in the publication, its structure and content was considerably expanded. The issue contains all necessary information for everyday life. In addition to detailed reference information, the calendar contained articles on history, historical geography, statistics, topography, and ethnography of the region.
