Elizaveta Ksaveriivna Vorontsova (1792-1880) - stateswoman (1838), wife of count (since 1844 - prince) M. S. Vorontsov. She is known for her educational and philanthropic activities. In his speech, Odesa city rabbi Dr. Simon Leon Schwabacher focused the audience's attention precisely on Elizaveta Xaveriivna's charitable activities. As a philanthropist, Elizaveta Vorontsova organized the Novorossiysk Women's Society for the Care of the Poor, initiated the publication of the almanac "A Gift to the Poor" (Odesa, 1834), supported local women's schools. Her name is also associated with the activities of the Sturdziv Almshouse of Merciful Sisters and many others.
