The book is a separate reprint of the article from the journal ‘Bibliological News’ № 2/3 of 1928-1929, which for the first time analyses illustrations to books and periodicals created by the outstanding Ukrainian artist Kostiantyn (Kost) Oleksandrovych Trutovsky (1826-1893). The author of the text, art historian Adelaide Volodymyrivna Artyukhova (1902 or 1903 - ca. 1942) worked in the art department of Taras Shevchenko All-Ukrainian Historical Museum, at the Department of Ukrainian Art of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, and was a member of the Book Art Commission of the Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Book Studies. In 1935, she was repressed. A. Artyukhova's research on K. Trutovsky is the first attempt to study the artist's work scientifically.
