The book deals with the creative path of the outstanding painter and graphic artist Kostiantyn (Kost) Oleksandrovych Trutovsky (1826-1893). The author of the text, an art historian and museum worker Adelaide Volodymyrivna Artyukhova (1902 or 1903 - ca. 1942) was repressed in 1935. A. Artyukhova's research on K. Trutovsky is the first attempt at a scientific study of the artist's work. As in other books of this series, the monographic article is accompanied by an album of black and white reproductions. The copy of Odesa National Scientific Library is preserved in the publisher's paper cover by the artist Havrylo Pustoviyt (1900-1947).
