The author of the book is Vadym Shcherbakivsky (1876-1957), a prominent Ukrainian historian, ethnographer, and art historian. In 1922 he emigrated and worked in Prague, and after the Second World War - in Munich and London. During his life, he wrote about a hundred scientific works.
In addition to the monographic article, the book contains 4 sheets of tables with images of different types of Ukranian Easter egg ornamentation and detailed notes to the text and illustrations.
