The “Memoirs of Kherson Province” is an official reference and information collection published by the Kherson Provincial Government in the period from 1864 to 1914. During that time, 8 issues were published, each of which is a unique historical document that allows us to reconstruct the administrative, social, economic, and cultural development of the Kherson province in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The book is divided into several sections. The calendar section reflects the multinational and multi-confessional nature of the region. The address section contains a list of officials of the provincial, district, and state authorities, judicial and civil institutions, compiled in accordance with the administrative and territorial structure of the province. The reference section contains mandatory resolutions of the governor, excerpts from national legislation, and instructional materials regulating various aspects of provincial life. The statistical component of the collection provides data on demographics, land ownership, industry, medicine, education, agriculture, and the region's transportation system. The advertising section reflects the economic life of the region through advertisements for factories, banks, shops, educational institutions, and hotels.
This issue also contains a map of the city of Yelisavethrad (now Kropyvnytskyi) in the Kherson province as of 1909.
