The book presents material that describes the Ukrainian literature of the XVII Century. In his research, M.F. Sumtsov, a Ukrainian scientist, bibliographer, ethnographer, folklorist, and publicist, distinguishes two periods in the history of South Russian science and literature in the seventeenth century - South-Russian literature of Greek-Slavic and Latin-Polish character. The book deals with XVII century of South Russian literature research. The author believes that a complete bibliographic index of southern Russian literary objects should be compiled, as well as the publication of South-Russian antique books.
