A selection of works of the famous Ukrainian writer, master of the psychological short story V. Stefanyk - these are five stories about the life of Ukrainian peasantry at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries.
In the short stories “Field”; “Nurse”; “Children's adventure”; :They were taken out of the village” the author described the hard life and way of life of the peasants of Western Ukraine. The short story “The Stone Cross” tells the story of a peasant family that is forced to move to Canada in search of a better life. The author managed to convey the full depth of emotions of his characters, their uncertainty about the future and sadness for their homeland, which they leave.
