Nieulandt II, Willem (Guiliam) van

Artist, engraver, poet, playwright of the golden age of the Netherlands. From a family of artists of Flemish origin from Antwerp. Cousin of Willem van Nieulandt I (1560-1626). Since 1589 - with his family in Amsterdam. He studied at Roelant Savery; in 1602-1605 - in Rome, a student of Paul Bril, in his studio he painted landscapes with the ruins of monuments, arches and temples, many of which he engraved himself. In 1605 he returned to Antwerp, in 1629 he settled in Amsterdam. Also known as a poet and playwright.
