Morin, Jean

A painter and engraver, a publisher of his own engravings. Student of the artist Philippe de Champaigne. Нe engraved in the technique of chisel engraving and etching from the originals of P. de Champaigne, A. van Dyck, Titian. He worked mainly in the portrait genre. A characteristic feature of his portraits is that they are all, with few exceptions, placed in an octagonal frame, vertically extended.

He also made a number of landscape etchings, engraved from the originals of Cornelis van Poelenburgh, Jacques Fouquières and his own drawings.
