Visscher, Jan (Johannes)
Ca. 1636, Haarlem — 1692–1712, Amsterdam
Etcher, engraver and painter. He studied with his brother, a well-known Dutch engraver, Cornelis Visscher. In 1658, he moved to Ams- terdam. At the mature age, he became a landscape painter. He made engravings after the originals of P. Wouwerman, A. van Ostade, van Goyen and other.
